Ghana Post issued the Otumfuo Silver Jubilee Crypto Stamp on 4 May 2024 — the first African commemorative NFT stamp. The edition honors the 25-year throne jubilee of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, 16th Asantehene of the Asante Kingdom (reigning since 26 April 1999). The launch took place at Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Jubilee Hall in Kumasi in the presence of the king. The mintage comprises 7,200 NFTs on Ethereum, priced at 250 GHS. Each physical card contains an NFC chip that, after smartphone scan, enables manual pairing with the blockchain NFT. The anti-counterfeit mechanism generates a one-time authentication message with each scan.
