Bluegrass (Stamp Art 2024)
High Lonesome Sound – the 2024 Bluegrass Forever stamp as a VeVe blind box
Heather Moulder’s letterpress design of guitar, banjo, fiddle and mandolin — a Forever stamp of March 2024, dropped on VeVe on 20 April 2024 in two tiers.
USPS Stamp Art — Bluegrass brings the 2024 Bluegrass Forever stamp to VeVe. The physical stamp was dedicated on 15 March 2024 at the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum in Owensboro, Kentucky; designer and illustrator Heather Moulder (Woodbury, TN) produced the artwork as a letterpress print with hand-carved wood and linoleum layers under art director Antonio Alcalá. Inspired by vintage bluegrass concert posters, it shows the four acoustic string instruments typical of a bluegrass band — guitar, five-string banjo, fiddle and mandolin — under the words “High Lonesome Sound”, the title of a 1963 documentary about Appalachian folk music and a familiar nickname for the genre. The NFT drop followed on 20 April 2024, 8 AM PT as a blind-box waitlist at 6.00 USD, in two tiers: the single Bluegrass stamp (2,940 pieces, Ultra Rare) and the Pane of 20 (640 pieces, Secret Rare) — 3,580 NFTs on Immutable X.

The Physical Stamp
USPS issued the Bluegrass Forever stamp on 15 March 2024, dedicating it at the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum in Owensboro, Kentucky, ahead of a concert by Ricky Skaggs. Designer and illustrator Heather Moulder (Woodbury, TN) produced the artwork as a letterpress print with hand-carved wood and linoleum layers, under art director Antonio Alcalá. Inspired by vintage bluegrass concert posters, the stamp shows the four acoustic string instruments typical of a bluegrass band — guitar, five-string banjo, fiddle and mandolin — under the words "High Lonesome Sound", the title of a 1963 documentary about Appalachian folk music and a familiar nickname for the genre. Banknote Corporation of America printed 15,000,000 stamps in panes of 20.
The VeVe Drop
Five weeks later, on 20 April 2024 at 8 AM PT, the design dropped on VeVe as a blind-box waitlist at $6. Unlike most Stamp Art drops there is no Common tier: the box contained either the single stamp or the full pane.
| Variant | Tier | Mintage |
|---|---|---|
| Bluegrass (single stamp) | Ultra Rare | 2,940 |
| Bluegrass – Pane of 20 | Secret Rare | 640 |
The pane is the top tier of this drop rather than a separate release — a different structure from With Love and Kisses 2025, where a pane was issued alongside the main edition. Together the two tiers make 3,580 NFTs.
Tech Stack
USPS Stamp Art editions live on Immutable X, an Ethereum L2 (StarkEx). NFTs are minted and traded through the VeVe marketplace; tokens are not directly resolvable via Etherscan because they live on the L2 sidechain. This is the same stack used for the entire USPS Stamp Art programme since 2021.
Curator note: the USPS newsroom release and Postal Bulletin 24-10 document the physical stamp (issue date, designer, printer, 15,000,000 printed). The NFT drop — date, two tiers, 2,940 / 640 — rests on VeVe's own blog post; crypto-stamps.org repeats the same figures. USPS has published nothing about the drop itself. Single editorial source for the drop. Reviewed 2026-09-21.
