About the Golden Mercury Mystery Boxxx
The Golden Mercury Mystery Boxxx of 28 November 2022 is the premium variant of the CSA Mercury edition (Crypto Stamp Art #1, originally launched on 22 July 2022). Issued in 500 pieces, it is the first gold variant of any Crypto Stamp Art edition — a template later replicated in subsequent premium CSA releases.

The Three Components
Each Golden Mystery Boxxx contains three physically and digitally distinct elements:
- Physical special-stamp-block overprint — based on the EUR 3.70 special stamp block Der Merkur: 1851 – 2022 issued on 1 July 2022. The Golden edition uses an overprinted version, distinguishing it from the standard Mercury block.
- Embedded 1g gold bar — minted by Münze Österreich AG (Austrian Mint), with a dedicated crypto-stamp embossing. This is the same mint that produced the gold elements of the earlier Crypto Stamp Gold editions (Unicorn 2020, Doge 2021, Whale 2022).
- Card wallet with NFT — a card-shaped wallet whose private key unlocks the Mercury NFT on Ethereum. Same Tokapi tech stack as the standard CSA Mercury edition.
Artist: PR1MAL CYPHER
The motif — an artistic reinterpretation of the Red Mercury 1851 by Josef Anxmann — was created by PR1MAL CYPHER, the pseudonym of Ari Pratama working at the Austrian studio Encode Graphics. PR1MAL CYPHER is the same artist behind the standard CSA Mercury edition; the Gold variant uses the same visual language but in a premium presentation.
Significance: First CSA Gold Edition
Until November 2022, gold variants existed only within the mainstream Crypto Stamp programme (Unicorn, Doge, Whale). The Golden Mystery Boxxx was the first cross-programme hybrid — taking the gold-bar mechanic from the mainstream gold series and applying it to the new Crypto Stamp Art line.
This established the template for later premium CSA releases and signalled that gold editions are not bound to a specific stamp programme but function as a value-tier overlay that can be combined with any motif format.
Sales Performance
Unlike earlier gold editions, the Golden Mercury remained available for purchase until spring 2023 — approximately five months after launch. This contrasts with the sell-out patterns of the Unicorn Gold (2020), Doge Gold (2021), and Whale Gold (2022) editions.
