Gold Edition Helios — Crypto Stamp Gold Edition NL

Gold Edition Helios

The NL Crypto Stamp Gold Edition Helios is the Dutch issue of the joint AT/NL Helios gold edition, released on 16 October 2025. PostNL minted 299 pieces while Österreichische Post minted 350 pieces in parallel as csg-helios-at. Retail price EUR 500 with an embedded 1g gold bar and NFC authentication. Helios (the ancient sun god) belongs to the mythology cycle the postal partners issued in 2025 as the CS 5.3 / CS 6 family — represented on the Dutch side by the mainstream Hermes contribution. The Gold Edition Helios is the premium complement to that mythology year. *Curator note:* chain (Polygon) and contract are not confirmed on-chain.

History

The NL Crypto Stamp Gold Edition Helios is PostNL's contribution to the joint AT/NL Helios gold edition, released on 16 October 2025. It is the premium companion to the 2025 mythology cycle — the release the postal partners label Crypto Stamp 5.3 on the Austrian side and market internationally as CS 6.

PostNL minted 299 pieces; Österreichische Post minted 350 pieces in parallel as csg-helios-at. Both are national premium runs of the same Helios sun-god theme.

Technical Specifications

Retail price EUR 500, with an embedded 1g gold bar and NFC authentication. Two national mintages: PostNL 299 pieces, Österreichische Post 350 pieces.

Curator note: The chain has not been independently confirmed on-chain. Polygon is inferred from the NL Golden Dragon precedent (gold-dragon-nl) and the AT sibling csg-helios-at. No contract address has been resolved.

Design

Helios, the ancient Greek personification of the sun, anchors the gold edition in the same mythological vocabulary as the mainstream 2025 family. Where the mainstream Dutch contribution to that year is Hermes, the gold edition steps outside the color-variant format: a single gold variant paired with a physical gold bar.

Relationship to the Mythology Family

The 2025 mythology family covers mainstream motifs — Zeus and Hera on the Austrian side, Hermes as the Dutch mainstream contribution. Helios is the gold complement to that cycle, not a mainstream color set. As a bilateral AT/NL gold edition it sits thematically alongside the family while remaining a standalone premium release with its own mintage.

Distribution

As with earlier PostNL gold editions, distribution ran through the PostNL webshop (shop.postnl.nl), Bruna stores, and the shared onchain shop. The NFC tag lets collectors authenticate the physical stamp against its digital twin.

Significance

The Gold Edition Helios extends PostNL's premium track record into the mythology era: after the Gold Bull (2022), the NL Crypto Stamp 2 Gold Edition (2023), and the Golden Dragon (2024), Helios is PostNL's 2025 gold release. With 299 pieces, a 1g gold bar, and NFC authentication, it is a compact premium anchor to the Dutch mythology year.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does NL mint 299 and AT 350 pieces?

Helios is a joint AT/NL gold edition where each post mints its own nationally capped run: PostNL 299 pieces, Österreichische Post 350 pieces (csg-helios-at). Unlike the mainstream mythology family, where mintages are far higher, gold editions are deliberately kept small. No explicit reason for the exact figures was communicated; both stay below the 500-piece mark of the earlier gold dragons.

How does Helios fit into the mythology family?

The 2025 mythology cycle is officially labelled Crypto Stamp 5.3 on the AT side and marketed internationally as CS 6; the mainstream family covers motifs such as Zeus and Hera (AT) and Hermes (NL). Helios is the gold complement to that cycle — not a mainstream color set but a premium sun-god release with a gold bar. As a bilateral AT/NL gold edition it sits thematically alongside the mythology family while remaining a standalone premium issue.
